Shigeru Tanaka supported Mr. Shimoda, by providing free coffee beans to help him with his activities after the earthquake.
The Japanese artist met Mr. Shimoda in Tateno, Minamiaso Village, when he volunteered to put blue tarps on roofs, and for the five years before his death, he sent coffee beans to him.
