When we asked Shigeru Tanaka why he draws dogs and cats together in his oil paintings, he replied, "I want to paint pictures that are alive, that have a feeling of warmth, that's why things that look like that appear in the pictures."
"It also calms me to draw things like Mount Ibuki, the Nagara River, clouds, water and grasslands. I feel happy when I finish a painting, for me, the time I spend drawing is important", explained the Japanese artist.
