The color "Toumorokoshi-iro" is a traditional Japanese color . It is a pale, warm yellow, similar to the color of corn kernels. It is also called "Morokoshiiro" and was very popular in the mid-Edo period.

Corn is native to South America, it was introduced in Europe by Columbus. It was later brought to Japan via Nagasaki by the Portuguese in 1579.
